For example, when I moved to Cali, I only had to take the written exam. I did not have to take the practical exam. This is because of the different driving conditions that exist in USA as opposed to PR. For example, we do not have streetcars or trains crossing at grade, we do not have snow, there are not "suicide lanes", etc. They may make you take the written exam all over again. You can request the exam in English if you want.|||You have to have the permit of the place you live at. If not you are considered a tourist. However, I am not sure I understood your question.
