According to the U.S. Council for Puerto Rican Statehood, 57% percent of Puerto Ricans want statehood. So that means on the next plebiscite that statehood will probably win. And that means Puerto Rico will become the 51st state of the Union(pendding congress approves them, which they have no reason not to). So what my question is, when is the next plebiscite? If approved in the House and later in the Senate; and then signed as law by the President the next plebiscite would be during 2010.|||As far as I have read, it will be this year, but due to complexity, some say next year. I believe this year because the UN wants this solved ASAP.
