I don't believe that Wikipedia stuff, tell me in your own words if you're an Puerto Rican Immigrant yourself that know the history of how Puerto Rico became an American Territory.|||Spain and USA engaged in the Spanish American War of 1898, and Spain lost. USA and Spain make a peace treaty in Paris, to the end of the war. Spain ceded their last colonies to USA, including:
* Puerto Rico
* Cuba
* Guam
* Philipines.
USA managed differently each of these four.
If you do not trust Wikipedia, there are many other encyclopedic and history websites to look for information. Or go to a library and find history books about:
* Puerto Rico's History
* Spanish American War (1898)
