i am making a essay about the recent oil spill ocurred in the southwest coast of puerto rico. i think that a problem of these level dont need only the opinion of one person i think that this need the opinion of every one. please at the end of your opinion leave your real name and your location|||Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I don't get a paper delivered every day and although I check Internet headlines on the other days this apparently wasn't considered "big" news.

I'm hoping the investigation will reveal a signature to the material so that the offender can be appropriately punished. In a perfect world the offending ship/company/nation would step forward and accept responsibility and assist with cleanup operations.

That this spill is 5-miles wide and threatening sensitive corals and mangroves, as well as the Guanica Dry Forest, is alarming, to say the least. That it potentially impacts tourism and commercial fishing is probably a good thing, as it gives authorities and stakeholders added incentive to prevent and address spills. Hopefully the contingency of biologists, ecologists and other scientists on hand will be able to assist with efforts to protect seastar, octopus, manatee, sea turtles and other marine species that will be imperiled due to this catastrophe.

The article I belatedly read said that the last major spill in Puerto Rico was 1994. I wish they'd given that fact some context. The public deserves to know.

I love that you're a top contributor in Maintenance and Repairs. Somehow it seems, well, appropriate.|||I think we need more shore birds to soak up the oil with their feathers.
